Lotus Bèbè was created in Southern California in 2008, out of a need for stylish baby accessories that were also environmentally friendly.
We discovered the unique properties of bamboo and soybean fabrics and started looking for items made with either. Trying to find items made from bamboo and soybean was challenging, because no one was carrying these items. So the idea of Lotus Bèbè was started. Our product line was launched with hip mommas and papas in mind, who want to give their children something natural, eco-friendly but at the same time luxurious.
Our products are manufactured in China by a “green” facility that adheres to ISO9000 and ISO14000 standards. They have a closed loop process of reusing the water that is needed in production of the bamboo. The bamboo comes out free of chemical residue. The dyes used are Azo-free low impact dyes and there is no use of formaldehyde. After the fabric is finished it is sent to the seamstresses who sew our blankets. These seamstresses are fairly treated important members of the facility. They are compensated fairly and have safe working conditions. Our agent has the ability to visit the facility at different times of the year to observe the process of production and ensure these standards.
